When hundreds of local batteries can be dispatched under a Virtual Power Plant, it can provide similar services that a conventional power plant can. When there is instability in the network due to large demands and spikes, VPP’s are critical to keep the nations lights on and energy costs lower.
Being connected to a VPP will give you another revenue stream for your battery like a mini-ATM machine working for you day and night. These batteries are very fast acting and extremely important for the aging grid and Australian Energy Market Operator controlling the frequency in the network. (FCAS)
